Niykee keeps writing music despite having been part of the recent chaos. Her selection was made to be part of the YouTube Brandcast by Snoop and Snoop was on stage with her. Being a magnet for producers, Niykee is constantly looking through the numerous beats sent to her. She has found that the majority beats spark fresh music ideas. She says that she can tell if the beat is good in just five seconds. Then, a new song may pop up in her head. My guitar is on the back porch and I just let my thoughts flow. It's usually done within 30 minutes. While she develops as a musician, Niykee says that the pain of her past serves as an endless source of unimaginable sources of inspiration. "Even when I don't write about my own life in the open, the sadness of losing my sister and the pain of my childhood are incorporated into my songs," she says. This influences my music and creates a deeper significance behind everything that is one the most important things for me. I want to be able to say that I'll be able to listen to any one of my songs 20 years later and be happy with what I had to say.
